Group Fitness Qualification Structure:
Unit 1 Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology for exercise and health D/617/8589
Unit 2 Principles of health and wellbeing for exercise, fitness and health Y/617/8588
Unit 3 Know how to support clients lifestyle management and enhance client motivation for exercise and physical activity R/617/8590
Unit 4 Principles of professional practice, and health and safety in a fitness environment Y/617/8591
Unit 5 Planning & Instructing professional practice with effective consultations and assessments for group fitness training sessions
Unit 6 Planning & Instructing group fitness training sessions- learners will choose to complete their practical assessment in Group Fitness Interval Training.

- Unit 5 – Worksheet or Professional Discussion, PARQ, Activity Session Plan
- Unit 6 – Worksheet, Observed Summative Assessment via video submission, Session and Self Evaluation
Full qualification – Successful achievement of all six units must be achieved
2 unit option – Successful achievement of units 5 & 6 must be achieved
Practical assessment class is a VIDEO submission; you will present a 60 minute class including 5 – 12 people. This class can be a HIIT, Interval, Circuit or Bootcamp format.
Please note that in the very rare case that you are referred more than 2 times on your practical assessment, we charge a fee of £50 for re assessment.
FULL QUALIFICATION – There are no specific pre-requisite qualifications, but there is an element of discussing, presenting, reading and writing involved and learners should have basic skills in communication.
2 UNIT OPTION – You can complete the 2 specific Group Fitness units in planning and instructing group exercise if you currently hold a level 2 qualification with the following units (or equivalent):
Mandatory Units
Unit 1 Anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology for exercise and health
Unit 2 Principles of health and wellbeing for exercise, fitness and
Unit 3 Know how to support clients lifestyle management and enhance client motivation for exercise and physical activity
Unit 4 Principles of professional practice, and health and safety in a fitness environment
Successful achievement of all six units must be achieved for the full qualification.
You will need to submit a copy of your Level 2 certificate.
This is the industry standard qualification for adults (aged 16+) wishing to pursue a career either in the health and fitness sector or a community setting .
16 to 18 year-olds may need to be supervised in the workplace, once they have achieved the qualification

Pre-requisites
- New Students: No specific prerequisites are required.
- Previous Students: If you’ve completed a Level 2 Fitness Instructing course, please submit your unit certificate for approval.
Course Format
- Online Learning: The course is primarily delivered online, with extensive video content to guide you through the learning process.
- Tutor Support: You’ll have constant email access to your tutors and assessor, as well as phone contact with Jayne.

- Payment Commitment: Once subscribed, you are obligated to complete all payments.
