Traditional Yoga Study
Your full teacher training manual and suggested texts will allow you to indulge the diverse and exciting world of traditional yoga. We fully prepare you to understand and teach the 8 limbs of yoga, historical Sanskrit terminology with history of yoga asana through to implementing stability (sthira) and ease (sukha) in the complete unification of breath (pranayama), focus (drishti) and movement (asana) to create beautiful flowing sequences (vinyasa). We have different tutors providing different experiences in breathing, meditation, bandhas, mudras ( please see full course content below).
This forms the core of your study and will be at the forefront throughout. You will leave the diploma qualification as a fully qualified yoga teacher.

Yoga teacher training level 4 practical Zoom days:

  •  Day 1  –  Overview of course and learning materials. Modern Yoga and asana practice. teaching skills, language and communication
  • Day 2 –  Workbook overview. We are custodians of yoga, no one owns it, but what is its rich and varied history and background? an historical perspective of yoga, and asana analysis: We explore the background and history of yoga, key perspectives, practices and texts, and notable exponents.We analyse asana in terms of their possible benefits, their planes of movement, the joints and muscles involved, and how to regress, progress, and adapt the asana, along with the use of teaching aids
  • Day 3 – Breathing Bandhas, Mudras, Meditation: We consider the role of breath practice in yoga and experience different breathing techniques. The use of locks, seals and gestures is put into perspective and we explore different methods of meditation and mindfulness.
  • Day 4–  Class planning and practical application of yoga. Student teaching practice.

Your Yoga teacher training level 4 diploma consists of 5 units:

  1.  Teaching Yoga as a Profession
  2. Planning and Delivering Yoga Classes
  3. Understanding and applying the Philosophy of Yoga
  4. Teaching Asana to meet the Needs of Mixed Ability Students
  5.  Finding the Breath Classes

Your anatomy and physiology  units:

  1. Level 2 A&P is essential in order to understand the basics of how the body works

Free 12 month class pass:
You will be given a free class pass to take part in all classes at the GXT Online Studio for the entire 12 months of your course. This will help you to experience exactly how the course information translates into practical teaching. We provide many different styles of class and approach each subject with sound teaching skills. Many of these sessions are recorded and logged in your online yoga journey course for long term viewing.

This is such a straight forward method of assessment. You are assessed academically and practically. The process is set by OFQUAL which should give you absolute confidence that the result will be a robust qualification that holds its head up high in the education system and the industry.

You are assessed on 5 individual units. These can be completed individually and sent to your personal assessor for marking as you progress.
You are marked on the completion of your workbook, teaching plans, and practical assessment.

Formative observations (completed on live Zoom training), Summative observation is assessed via video submission, Self evaluation, Personal development plan, Personal practice and reflection diary
We accept approved prior learning (APL) from students who have previously completed relevant parts of the course.
Students receive a home study pack designed to encourage research into the key areas of teaching Yoga. During completion of this study we ask you to develop an idea of the kind of yoga instructor that you would like to be. Once you are confident in the areas that you would like to focus, we then offer you further study, specific to your needs

At GXT we have an online studio that delivers zoom classes every week and we encourage monthly meetings, email and phone contact. Used wisely the online option provides more personal contact than pre organised live meets.
